Will your site be used to gain leads through form fills or phone calls.  Do you want to increase your newsletter signups enabling you to quickly and inexpensively advertise to current clients. Are you using your website as an online brochure in which to send clients to view your products.  Will you use your site for an online sales machine?

You should discuss with your designer not only what your products and services are but what problems do they solve for your clients.

If you don't have content already written for your site, who will write the content. Will the content be provided in it's final form or will it need to be edited.

Choose one that is local to you.

Choose a large one from a company you aspire to be.

Choose a site that you believe most resembles your company size and target audience.

The decision to be an e-commerce site can affect the entire makeup.  If you are going to sell from your site how many products will you have?

Remember each size and color combination counts as another product.

If you purchase from a manufacturer do they have a database your site can tap into. This allows you to begin selling without having to build a database.  This will save you money.

If you have affiliate marketing on your site it must be known you are making money from the promotion of these items. It requires a special affiliate marketing policy on the site.

You should provide your web designer with your logo (vector image works best) and color scheme. If your company has a style guide be sure to share that with your web designer before beginning.  If your company doesn't have a style guide adPRO will design one from the elements used on the site. This guide will be delivered electronically to you at the end of the project.

If you don't have already have a logo be sure to ask your web designer for a proposal on a logo design or what the alternatives are if you choose not to invest in a logo at this time.

Alright, this can actually wait until after your site is built but it's best to start thinking about it early.  Unless the goal of your website is to be used as an online brochure for  current clients you will want to advertise to bring in traffic.

You will need one person to have final approval of each page and aspect of the site. They will need to be able to sign approvals and correction sheets.
